A SAMPLE OF PREVOIUS PROJECTS

RUDOLF

From the aerial view to the human perspective, EXPLORING HORIZONS travels off the beaten path to the remote corners of the world with their own open cockpit 2 seater ultralite airplane and finds those places where civilization moved in without taking over. Three stunning seasons cover a cross section of culture, adventure and amazing places that make up our global village.

Exploring Horizons

Exploring Horizons finds those places where civilization moved in without taking over and where, for generations, communities have been shaped by their natural environments. The remote reaches of Patagonia, the ancient medinas of North Africa and the isolated Sub-Arctic frontier all have one thing in common: it’s the people that make them unique in the ways they experience life.

In these isolated pockets of civilization, Flight is often a lifeline to the outside world. ItÂ’s also a means to explore. The Exploring Horizons aerial perspective extends far past the usual boundaries. Flyers of all varieties share their favorite flightpaths, and from the open air cockpit of the Exploring Horizons ultralight, itÂ’s a gateway to a different world.

Far Out Destinations, Unusual Perspectives, Fascinating Storytellers, together, these elements achieve a unique portrait of each place and inspire us to see our world through different eyes. Exploring Horizons looks at what brings us together as people, what sets us apart as individuals and what ignites our passion to explore.

Shot in North America, Central America, South America, Europe & North Africa.

As the Co-creator/Producer of EXPLORING HORIZONS (Discovery International, Travel UK, Outdoor Life Network Canada, etc.) Alen Milic filmed all 39 episodes. The production involved transporting an ultra-lite plane to each remote location, which allowed the crew to capture aerial footage of some of the most inaccessible regions of the globe.

The most challenging footage was filmed from the open cockpit of the 2-seater ultra-lite on locations like: over the desolate peaks of the Andes near the Patagonian frontier; the barren Atacama Desert in Chile, the driest desert in the world; the remote Athabasca Sand Dunes in Northern Canada; the rugged and wild terrain of British Columbia’s interior; the sub-arctic landscape of the Yukon Territory; the dense canopy of the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, the last remaining primary rain-forest along Central America’s Pacific Coast, etc.

This is one of the very first documentaries focused on the emerging sport of kite-skiing.  Filmed in Quebec with World Champion Eric Marchand, ISLAND WIND utilized lipstick cameras mounted on various parts of kite-ski riders to capture unique perspectives. And this is 10 years before GoPro hit the market and revolutionize action camera filming!

Island Wind

In this documentary,Pro World Champion Kite-Skier, Eric Marchand introduces us to the spirit and the skill behind one of today’s fastest growing international adrenelin sports, Kite-Skiing.

A true original, Eric shares his passionate philosophy of Power-Kiting from his home in Les Iles de la Madeleine, Quebec. People from all over the world have discovered this island paradise, where the winds blow constantly across wildly beautiful stretches of ice and sand. ItÂ’s a perfect landscape for champions and beginners alike to Kite-Ski, Kite-Buggy and Kite-Surf. They can rely on natural energy instead of an engine, and the journey from extreme to extreme is one that people return to year after year...

When the World Kite-Ski Championships are held in nearby Lac St Jean, Eric is there, along with competitiors of all ages and nationalities who have travelled across the world to meet the Kite-Ski challenge. Each has their own individual philosophy, but all are there to experience the ultimate freedom of being one with the elements. And for a few days, to ride on the Island Wind.

Throughout their journey, Peter and Elizabeth share their experiences in a practical and informative way. A British writer, naturalist and global explorer, Peter’s narrative gives viewers invaluable background and additional facts about Gros Morne, from it’s rare vegetation and wildlife to it’s geological wonders and oddities that predate mankind.
